THE LIVING ECHOES / PARTICIPATION DOCUMENTS
Participation rules
An open artwork, a shared public record and a clear distinction between participation, authorship and endorsement.
Version participation-rules-v1 · Published 2026-10-11
Current basis: non-exclusive project-use permission
01 / The project and its operator
The Living Echoes is an open interactive art project initiated and continuously developed by Liu Qiming. Submitted text, images, video and audio, together with associated interaction records and generated responses, form the evolving contributions to this work. An AI creative agent participates under the project’s settings; it is not Liu Qiming speaking in real time.
Liu Qiming personally maintains the project. Liu Qiming Studio and Liu Qiming Art Archive identify his studio and documentary archive. The archive has a not-for-profit mission. Any change to the operator or contact channels will be noted here.
02 / Who may participate
You may browse without registering. Submission currently uses an anonymous participation session rather than an account. Before your first submission, accept the general participation rules and confirm that you are at least 18 and have reached legal majority where you live. If you cannot give the required permissions, do not submit.
Submission by minors is not currently supported. A separate guardian-consent and privacy process must be reviewed and implemented before that changes. Do not upload identifiable minors or other people’s private material without all permissions required by applicable law.
03 / A separate choice for each submission
Before files are uploaded or a generation task is created, review the current rights agreement and privacy notice. Three separate, initially unchecked confirmations cover your authority and project processing, public display, and the current non-exclusive project-use agreement. Selecting a file for preview does not by itself submit it. A link to a previous public contribution is a separate optional choice.
Submit only material you own or have sufficient permission to authorize for these project uses, including copyright, performances, music, recordings and any necessary likeness or privacy permissions. A permission to view or listen privately is not necessarily permission to publish or send material to an AI service. Remove confidential material, passwords and unnecessary identifying details.
Confirmation records attach to the particular submission and the versions displayed. Ordinary registration, a checkbox or a participation receipt is not presented as an effective copyright transfer. The separate transfer draft is inactive.
04 / Public expression and review
Critical reflection, public issues, politics, history and disagreement are legitimate subjects for participation. A sharp or unpopular view is not, by itself, a reason to reject it. Do not submit unlawful threats, targeted harassment, exploitative sexual material, unauthorized private information, or material that infringes others’ rights.
Automated safety checks and administrator review may prevent publication or restrict access where there is a concrete safety or rights concern. Audio and video submissions remain private pending administrator review. Checks can make mistakes; use the private Contact page to request review. Publication can be paused for maintenance or usage limits while existing archives remain available.
05 / Attribution and responsibility
Participants’ expressions and AI-generated content do not represent the views, approval or endorsement of Liu Qiming, Liu Qiming Studio or Liu Qiming Art Archive, and must not be attributed to Liu Qiming personally. Inclusion in the artwork does not constitute endorsement of a viewpoint.
AI-generated content may contain errors or bias. It should not be treated as verified fact or professional advice. Original participant material, machine transcription or translation, AI-generated text and images, and material explicitly published by the artist must be distinguished. A generated contribution must not be represented as one of Liu Qiming’s existing artworks or as documentary evidence.
If content raises concerns about infringement, privacy or other rights, please contact us through the channels provided on this website. The project operator will investigate and respond under these rules and applicable law. Nothing here excludes duties or rights that applicable law does not permit the parties to exclude.
06 / Reports, complaints and withdrawal
Use a contribution’s Report control for a public-content or rights concern; the report text is visible to administrators, not published on the canvas. For copyright, likeness, privacy or other rights complaints, provide the contribution’s number or link, the material concerned, the nature of your right and enough information to assess the request. The Contact page also provides current channels, including direct messages through its social links. Its email form is presently unconfigured; an unconfigured or failed form does not mean a message was delivered. Do not post identifying evidence in the public artwork or unnecessary identification documents in a report.
If your browser retains the submission’s recovery credentials, its withdrawal control can remove the public contribution and request deletion of associated live files. Otherwise, contact the administrator with its number or link. Administrators can hide, restore or delete records and associated files. A report requests review and does not automatically delete a record.
Stopping public display, deleting personal data and the effect of a rights agreement are separate matters. Current use is based on a non-exclusive project permission, not a transfer. Requests are assessed under that agreement and applicable law. Copies in providers’ systems, prior downloads or restricted backups cannot be promised to disappear immediately or completely; see the privacy notice.
Use a record’s Report control or the available channels on Contact. An unconfigured or failed contact form does not mean a message was delivered.
