NONPROFIT PUBLIC ART ARCHIVE
About the Archive
A nonprofit public archive of Qiming Liu’s art and scholarly research, preserving artworks and documents for sustained public viewing, reading and research.
Purpose
This nonprofit public archive of art and scholarly research centres on Qiming Liu’s artistic practice, preserving and presenting artworks, biographical records, exhibition documentation, interviews, signed critical writing and publications. Preservation, research and public exchange are its ongoing work.
Historical memory, social critique and public life are central to reading these materials. The archive brings artworks and their documentation into conversation while preserving the distinct voices of the artist, critics and editors.
Artworks & Documents
Painting, performance, video and independent projects have equal standing, with viewing formats suited to each medium. Social Engagement separately documents the artist’s participation in public affairs through both artistic and civic action.
Artwork images retain their original colours and proportions. Source materials are preserved separately from their web versions; missing dates, locations, biographical details and institutional information are not filled in through speculation.
Reading & Research
Biographical narratives, the artist’s CV and signed texts are presented as distinct records. Chinese texts retain their original meaning, and English is reviewed against the Chinese context. Translations and editorial accounts do not replace source documents.
For citations, include the artist or author, the record’s title, its year where available, and the page URL. Research enquiries, image-use requests and corrections may be sent through the contact page. Rights in artworks and documents remain with their respective rights holders.
Public Participation
The interactive work is conceived as an open-ended process of continuing co-creation. Audience contributions, AI responses and generated images form its separate public archive. The AI creative agent operates from the artist’s materials and project instructions; its responses are neither live statements by the artist nor representations of his personal views.
Submission rules and what will be retained publicly are explained before participation. Private messages sent through Contact are handled separately and do not enter the artwork’s public archive.
The Living Echoes ↗Ongoing Stewardship
The archive will continue to grow as artworks and documents are assembled. Its development towards nonprofit stewardship will strengthen preservation, research and public exchange. Confirmed information about its management and collaborations will be published as this work progresses.
