Artist’s statement

On the particular day of this performance, 4 June, I used my Sina Weibo account (weibo.com/67198964) to broadcast my entire journey from Mianyang to Beijing on train K1364. The date of the journey, the train number, my Weibo account ID and the numbers “8, 9, 6, 4,” which I wrote by hand with my own saliva on the train, were the crucial numerical clues. Together, they pointed to a historical event that should not be forgotten.

On 4 June, I boarded train K1364 in Mianyang for Beijing. On the train, I repeatedly wrote “8.9.6.4” with my own saliva, shared the writing on Sina Weibo (my account: weibo.com/67198964) and interacted with other users. This was a personal form of commemoration.
