STUDIO67 Art Space’s bilingual project brochure announces Qiming Liu’s I Give You My 272 Days and Nights as an independent art project beginning on 7 March 2013, with a proposed 272-day period ending on 4 December 2013. An iPhone 5 and an iPad with a 4G connection were provided as the project’s materials.

The proposal asks Liu to use the devices in everyday life and retain the traces of that use, including information stored in the cloud. At the end of the period, the devices were to become an interactive installation in his solo exhibition. Visitors would be able to inspect and operate them, download or delete information, and act online through Liu’s identity. The proposal makes these unrestricted operations and online exchanges part of the work.

The project examines how mobile communication and networked information reshape relationships, identity and privacy. The supplied brochure and STUDIO67 website captures document the project’s terms; they are presented as project documentation.
